This is what silica glass looks
like.
The animations below show two different relaxation events
occuring in silica
glass
under high pressure. These events occur as sudden large jumps of
atoms.
On the basis of local relaxation events, I was able to
learn quite a lot about relaxation phenomena in glasses as well as
in liquids.
